Principal's Message

Welcome to Arcadia High School, home of the Apaches! AHS is the one and only comprehensive public 9-12 high school serving the Arcadia Unified School District. Our campus is located in the heart of Arcadia, California at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains.
AHS has a rigorous curriculum and high expectations of faculty and students. Although the students score very high on all local, state, and national tests, the faculty and administration recognize that students must compete against the most challenging international standards. As a result, they continue to improve and refine curriculum and instructional approaches. Arcadia High School is not a static organization resting on its well-deserved laurels. It is a dynamic and creative high school that constantly strives to prepare students for the world in which they will live and work. This report reflects the focused improvements at our site that directly impact the accomplishments of all our students.
We continue to work on our school and department goals creating a standards-based classroom across the curriculum to increase achievement for all students. The AHS staff recognizes the need for ongoing professional development focusing on student learning. Collaboration time is utilized to create common curriculum maps, common assessments and analyzing data to drive teaching strategies that are proven as “best practice”.
Similarly, we will continue to find ways for our students to take center stage and to shine. Whether in the academic, extracurricular, athletic or visual and performing arts of our school, we exist for our students. Our entire community is committed to working together to find areas of improvement and put in the tireless hours needed to make our school a better place.
