Dear Parents of 5th Graders,
The Dana Music Club invites you to be our guests at our May Meeting an=
d Potluck next Monday evening May 10th. The potluck dinner will begin at 6=
:30 PM; the meeting begins at 7:30 PM. You can find us in Room 1 (the music=
room), which is right behind where the Music trailer is parked in the bike=
lot at the front of the school.
The Dana Music Club is a parent organization that supports the award-w=
inning music programs at our middle school: band, orchestra, and guitar. He=
re are two great things about middle school music:
Students can start learning an instrument for the first time--no previous e=
xperience required!=20
The students learn to play real band or orchestra music together.=20
My soon-to-be eighth grader has blossomed as a trombone player, an =
instrument she just started in sixth grade. She and her bandmates are excit=
ed about learning to play music from West Side Story for their spring conce=
rts. Your fifth grade students will be inspired when Band 3 and Orchestra 3=
visit Longley Way and Camino Grove on May 25th to play this and many other=
pieces for them.
=20
Please come Monday and get to know more about music activities at Da=
na, meet the music director Mr. Jeff Grable, and have some food.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Tarsala
