We encourage your whole family to participate in this experiment by leaving your television set(s) and video/computer games off for the entire week, April 19-25, 2004. TV-Turnoff Week is about taking a healthy break from TV to focus on activities that are more academically, socially, and physically rewarding. It is also about having more fun. More than 24 million people have participated nationwide. This success demonstrates that a solid one-week recess from television allows more time to converse, read, exercise, play, think, create and do. Please help your child succeed in this effort by providing positive alternatives to television. Your family can think of and plan activities together. For help you can visit the TV-Turnoff website at www.tvturnoff.org. Please plan to join in TV-Turnoff week. Turn off TV, and turn on life!
