WHITE CHRISTMAS DRIVE NOVEMBER 26 * 30th During the 1930’s the United States was suffering through a drastic economic depression. Several Arcadia School teachers noticed students in their classes who were malnourished and under clothed. They decided to do something about it and began collecting canned foods, dry goods and even small toys and clothes for their students and their families. They decided to wrap the items in plain white paper and present them as gifts. Today the program still exists under the direction of the Arcadia PTSA and the local Arcadia Welfare and Thrift store located at 323 North First Avenue. During the week of November 26th * 30th we will be accepting dry goods, canned food items, new unwrapped toys and monetary donations. Please participate in this long standing tradition and make a difference in your community. All the items are given to our local families in need. Don’t forget them.
