Holly Avenue Silent Auction Fundraiser

Dear Parents,

By now you are aware that we at Holly Avenue are holding our Open Hou= se this coming Thursday evening, May 13, 2010 from 5:30 =E2=80=93 7:00 pm.<= SPAN style=3D"mso-spacerun: yes">  What you may not know is tha= t at the same time we are having our first Silent Auction to help raise ver= y needed funds for our school.  This auction takes place in the auditorium between 5:00 =E2=80=93 7:45 p= m.

With the financial crisis in California, all kinds of cutbacks are re= ducing the funds we have to purchase necessary supplies, so we go without.<= SPAN style=3D"mso-spacerun: yes">  With your help, we hope to c= lose that gap and provide our students, your children, with the best we pos= sibly can.

Our principal, teachers, students and staff have volunteered many hou= rs to offer a great selection of Silent Auction items.  In case you don=E2=80=99t know, a Silent Auction= is where items are displayed for people to bid on.  Bid sheets are provided so that you can enter a bid= , and if you bid the highest amount for any item, it is yours, and you will= purchase it at the end of the evening.&n= bsp; You will see what the minimum bid is, and how much you need to = bid above that at a minimum to raise the bid.  For example, if a minimum bid is $25.00 and the raise mus= t be $10.00, then someone can open the bidding at $25.00, and the next bid = must be at least $35.00, and so on.

So, before, after or while you are visiting your children=E2=80=99s r= ooms, please help us out by going to the auditorium and see what is availab= le, and place as many bids as you like.&n= bsp; You are free to revisit the bids until 7:10 pm for the Class Ar= t items, 7:20 pm for the Class Basket items, and 7:30 pm for the Special Ev= ents items.  At 7:45 you will= complete your purchase for any winning bids and the items become yours.  We are also offering raffle ti= ckets for a large group of very nice items.  There will also be f= ree refreshments located at the silent auction.

Attached is a full list of all the items being offered, and include t= he starting bids as well.  Pl= ease join us and have a great time on Thursday evening.
