Message-ID: <4DB9B68B020000C400003823@FS-DO2.ausd.k12.ca.us> Thank you to Holly Ave. students and teachers for your support on Origami Day! It was truly a surprise to see nearly 100 students show up at Rm 5, sacrificing their lunch hour to help Japan. Holly Avenue kids are true leaders showing such compassion for others. Thank you Doris Hayata for informing us of this wonderful "Cranes for Kids" Idea! And to Mrs. Blackstock for always welcoming new enriching opportunities for our Holly students. The 350 Origami Cranes were sent to OshKosh and will become 300 items of clothing for kids in Japan. Cindy Ong Holly PTA Publicity Hello HOLLY AVE parents, students and teachers! I want to thank everyone with making our 2010-2011 Holly Ave Canned Food Drive extremely successful! I spoke with Adrianna Sybenga Welfare Director at AWTS, and she stated how thankful and appreciative she was for all the families who generously donated to the Arcadia Food Bank! During these difficult times, families in Arcadia are also struggling, especially the homeless, single moms and the elderly poor. Thank you again for everyone's participation and we hope families can continue to donate even throughout the year! I want to give a special thank you to the parent volunteers who assisted with the Food Drive, Regina Schell, Marisol Grier, Amy Leung, Shawna Harrer, Jony Weiss, Mary Barkow, Cynthia Salazar, Teresa Santoso, and Maria Barriga (watching the little ones, while the mommies worked). A big thank you to eveyone for making our food drive possible and successful! We were able to donate 1, 847 can and food items, how wonderful! Susie Yn CAN you help? chair
