The Hugo Reid Walk-a-Thon will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008.  Every child who attends Hugo Reid Elementary School will participate in this event. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  The money generated from the Walk-a-Thon will be donated towards improvements and equipment for Hugo Reid Elementary School and Arcadia Child Health Council.  Students who bring in $150 or more in pledges will receive a Hugo Reid Sport Bottle.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This fundraiser is simple.  Students secure pledges for walking around a track, which will be staged around the baseball field on the elementary and primary campuses.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Students secure pledges in the following manner: (1) specific, lump sum dollar donations for participating in the event, or (2) a flat rate for the number of laps completed.  For example: if $0.50 per lap is pledged and the student completes 10 laps, then $5.00 is collected from the contributor making the pledge.
