Arcadia Unified Public Comments Process

We are pleased to announce that the Board of Education Meetings are returning to in-person meetings. There is limited capacity as part of our COVID-19 transmission mitigation effort, so we will continue to have them live-streamed for public viewing at https://boardmeeting.ausd.net.

Public access at the Arcadia Education Center, 150 S. Third Ave., Arcadia, CA 91006, is limited to only those who are making public comments or participating in the meeting. Social distancing will be implemented, and wearing of a face covering is required inside the building. Visitors will be required to complete a health questionnaire and have a temperature scan prior to entering the Board Room or Staff Development Room. If you have a fever or any signs of illness, please do not enter the building.

How to Provide a Public Comment

If you wish to make a public comment, you will need to complete a Request to Speak Card that will be available in the lobby of the Arcadia Education Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. Each speaker must complete his or her own Request to Speak Card. There is a total of 15 minutes allocated for public comment.  An audience member may also speak on agenda topics prior to the board discussion of the item. Under the Brown Act, the Board of Education is prohibited from discussing or taking action on any item not listed on the posted agenda. The Request to Speak Card needs to be completed and turned in to the Secretary prior to the scheduled start time of the meeting. Please note no Request to Speak Cards will be accepted after the start of the meeting.

 

Any individual with a disability who requires reasonable accommodation to participate in a Board of Education meeting, including language interpretation, may request assistance by contacting the office of the Superintendent at 150 South Third Avenue, Arcadia, CA 91006/(626)821-6640 at least 72 hours prior to the meeting.
