District Facilities

  • Management Plan for Asbestos-Containing Material

The District maintains and annually updates its management plan for asbestos-containing material in school buildings. For a copy of the asbestos management plan, please contact (626) 821-1435 [40 CFR 763.93]

  • Pesticide Use

The District is providing parents the name of all pesticide products expected to be applied at school facilities this school year. The identification includes the name and active ingredients. Only fully certified pesticides can be used on school grounds. The school’s Integrated Pest Management Plan (IPM) is updated by July 31 each year. The IPM, pesticide names and active ingredients, and application dates are posted on the school and/or district website HERE

Parents and guardians may register with the school or district if they wish to receive notification of pesticide applications at a particular school or facility. Notice of an application and written notice of unlisted pesticide use will be given 72 hours in advance. For an emergency application, 72 hours notice will be the goal. Each area of the school where pesticide is being used will be identified by a posted warning 24 hours before (or upon application, if an emergency) through 72 hours after use. Further information is available from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, P.O. Box 4015, Sacramento, CA 95812-4015, www.cdpr.ca.gov. [EC 17610.1]

  • Tobacco Free Campuses

The use of tobacco and nicotine products is prohibited on school or district grounds, buildings, and vehicles, and within 250 feet of a youth sports event.  Tobacco product includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, little cigars, chewing tobacco, pipe tobacco, snuff, or an electronic device (e.g., electronic cigarette, cigar, pipe, or hookah) that delivers nicotine or other vaporized liquids. [BPC 22950.5; HSC 104420, 104495, 104559, PC 308]

  • All-Gender Restrooms

The education code allows a restroom to be temporarily closed as necessary for a documented pupil safety concern, an immediate threat to student safety, or to repair the facility. In addition, districts offering classes from grades one to twelve must provide and maintain at least one all-gender restroom for voluntary student use at each school site. The all-gender restroom must have signage identifying the bathroom facility as being open to all genders and remain unlocked, unobstructed, and easily accessible by any student. A staff member is designated to serve as a point of contact for these purposes and districts are required to post a notice regarding the all-gender restroom in a prominent and conspicuous location outside at least one all-gender restroom. An existing restroom can be used to satisfy these requirements.

  • Drinking water: water bottle filling stations

Water plays an important role in maintaining a student’s overall health. Students, teachers and staff are allowed to bring and carry water bottles to school and utilize water bottle filling stations that may be found around the campus. Water bottles may not be permitted in the library, computer lab, science lab and other locations where liquids may cause damage to school property.  Please check with your child's school regarding water bottle usage and restricted areas.
