Arcadia Unified Facilities Master Plan Information

Facilities Master Plan Info Page

Arcadia Unified is excited to engage in the rigorous and rewarding process of creating a Facilities Master Plan (FMP). The FMP is a document our district will develop through a year-long, extensive, and inclusive information-gathering process that draws upon many partner groups within the district and our community. Our FMP will be created through the input and collective efforts of our FMP Planning Committee, composed of nearly 30 people from a wide variety of district and community leaders, including students, who will meet on Wednesday evenings monthly for a total of five times (excluding December) this school year.

The goal of this process is to focus on long-range, strategic issues relating specifically to the district’s educational and operational goals. The FMP will be a “living” document and a strategic planning tool that will identify short-term and long-term facility goals within the district for the next 5-10 years and beyond.

“Building our Future” is our theme this year throughout Arcadia Unified, and we will focus our efforts toward reflecting on where we are currently as an organization while looking forward to the opportunities ahead that will ensure Arcadia Unified remains a destination district with excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts. We also want to continue to build our reputation for offering 360-degree support for students’ personal and academic development, continuing to place an emphasis on students’ social-emotional growth and well-being. Our purpose statement, "To challenge and inspire students to make a positive and profound impact on their world," is not just a mantra; it is a mission that shapes each one of our decisions.

The FMP will guide our facilities program from where we are today to where we believe we need to be in the future to support our instructional and co-curricular programs. It will be an intense and thorough data-gathering process guided by the architects from the firm LPA. More information on how the FMP process will work can be found in the red navigation box to the right.
