All Arcadia Unified Schools Reopen
Hello Arcadia Unified Families and Community,
All schools will be open on Monday, January 13. We hope you and your family are doing well, and we truly appreciate everyone’s cooperation and support during this very difficult time. As we hoped, our schools are now safe and clean, power has been restored, our network connectivity is back, and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to school tomorrow.
As we return to school and hopefully some sense of normalcy, please keep in mind many of our students, staff, and families have been greatly impacted by the fires. An extra sense of care, compassion, and empathy for everyone who may be struggling and dealing with more than we know, will be greatly appreciated.
Air Quality:
Air quality has greatly improved since last week. If air quality is poor, outdoor activities will be limited and indoor options will be available for lunch and recess.
Support and Donations:
We are beyond appreciative of everyone who has reached out asking how they can help and support our AUSD community. You can donate now through the Arcadia Educational Foundation and our PTAs. Each donation will get a raffle ticket for a major prize giveaway at the Lunar New Year Festival in Arcadia on February 2. The more you donate, the more raffle tickets you will receive. Prizes include Lakers tickets, Kings tickets, Kendrick Lamar VIP concert tickets, and much more. Read all the details here. Thank you for considering a donation that will go directly to our AUSD teachers, staff, and families who lost their homes.
If there are any particular changes to your student’s return-to-school or after school activities, you will receive additional information from your school or program directly. The vast majority of students will not have any changes as they return to school tomorrow. Thanks again for your flexibility and support, we greatly appreciate it.
While schools were closed, we had lots of staff working extremely hard to support our families, staff, and community, and to ensure our campuses are safe and secure. We truly appreciate their efforts and are very thankful for them.
