Developer Fees

 
Government Code Section 65995 and California Education Code Section 17620 authorizes school districts to levy a fee against residential or commercial/industrial construction within their respective boundaries.
 
All residential or commercial/industrial construction projects are approved by the City/County Planning and Building Department.  The City/County will issue a building permit when all fees are paid by the owner, including developer fees collected by the Arcadia Unified School District.
 
 
ARCADIA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT DEVELOPER FEE RATES:
  • $4.79 per square foot of residential construction
  • $0.78 per square foot of commercial/industrial construction
 
 
DEVELOPER FEE PAYMENT INFORMATION:
  1. Developer fees must be paid in person "BY APPOINTMENT ONLY"
  2. Please send the following 2 documents to [email protected]:
    • Developer Fee Implementation Worksheet
      • Section 1 should be completed by City/County Planning and Building Department
      • Section 2 should be completed by Owner
    • Plan Review document from City/County Planning and Building Department
  3. Upon review of the required documents, the District's Business Services Department will schedule an appointment with the Owner/Representative to pay developer fees at the District Office (Arcadia Education Center), located at 150 S. Third Avenue, Arcadia, CA 91006
  4. Owner/Representative must bring the following documents on the day of the appointment:
    • Developer Fee Implementation Worksheet with Sections 1 and 2 completed
    • Plan Review document from City/County Planning and Building Department
    • Current ID of Owner/Representative
    • Certified or cashier's check (if amount is $3,000 or more) OR personal check (if amount is less than $3,000) -- check should be made payable to Arcadia USD
  5. Upon payment and clearance of the fees, the District will issue a Certificate of Compliance and provide a receipt for the amount paid
